Floor graphics - step ahead of the competition
Have you been on the tube lately? If you have you've probably noticed the 'Carling Live' busking spots. Half the musicians may be dreadful, but in branding terms the idea is ingenious - Carling may sponsor a handful of the largest and most prestigious music venues in the country, but the UndergroundMusic campaign goes to show they care about grassroots music as well...right down to the industry's lowest common denominator, the humble busker.
The success of the scheme in part is down to Carling's clever use of the space allocated to them in creating 'mini stages' for their performers. Each busker has a semi-circular black performance area from which to serenade the passing masses - this acts as a boundary between the performer and the passers-by, giving the busker his personal space and preventing knocks and collisions with passing commuters. It's a perfect set-up, and with the branded Carling backdrop a truly effective piece of promotion.
The unique set-up of the Carling busking pitches is down to a simple print solution - floor graphics. Floor graphics are essentially self-adhesive vinyl prints with a special hardwearing seal which protects the print from the day to day abuse of people's feet. Depending on the volume of traffic, floor graphics generally last between six months and a year before needing to be replaced - since the graphics are surprisingly cheap in the first place it represents an extremely cost effective way of dividing or decorating your floor space, with endless possibi lities.
As demonstrated by the Carling campaign, floor graphics can prove far more useful than just brightening up your floor space - for example, printed footsteps guiding customers to areas of a store, or advertising new products and services. If you have a stand at one of the hundreds of trade fairs and exhibitions this year, why not stand out from the crowd and make use of the valuable additional space with an informational floor, a striking hi-resolution photographic floor, or an imitation marble floor? If you run a mobile phone shop, why not divide your floor into colour-coded areas for each network provider?
The artwork set-up is no different from any large format print, and floor graphics are easy to install and remove. If you're keen to unlock the extra potential of your floor space vinyl floor graphics could just be the answer - email sales@prime4print.co.uk for more information on what we could do for you.
